“Granny Flats” and Affordable Housing: How to Add Housing without Wrecking the ‘Hood Reply

Small, dense development, a la Portland OR, where town zoning laws have been amended to enable homeowners to add/build small living spaces on their property (including converting garages and building separate “tiny houses”). To quote the article: “…additional living spaces are springing up everywhere, providing affordable housing without changing the feeling or texture of established neighborhoods the way high-rise developments can.”
